Would you run your car with no exhaust? just cut it all out at the headers and call it good? If you want noise get an aftermarket exhaust without a silencer. The engine wasn't designed to not have an exhaust.

Id run my car with no exhaust, I have before at the headers. First let's talk about preference, if you want to sacrifice a little tq/hp for a loud exhaust, by all means that's the OPs choice. A muffler is just that, it muffles, hence why he called it a silencer. You can clearly see the header is still there, just no "silencer" Now, keep in mind there's also a certain amount of back pressure that's applied from the mufflers that the motor needs for maximum power output.

lol overreact much!

The downpipes are still there i just removed the silencer (job in is the description) and i've consulted an engineer who's been building bikes for the TT for over 30 years, he said its absolutely fine to run with no silencer as the connecting pipes at the downpipes reduce any issues with any back pressure, any other bike such as injected models would have an issue but since its a 99 carb'd engine with stock downpipes, its all good!

an i dont have a car mate, dont need one...

@GotCBR - tell me bout it man! its hard work getting companies in the UK to make anything smaller!! it will be getting switched out at some point tho!

in other news my new chain n sprocket has arrived! my job for the day...
