I haven't had much luck with white smoke coming out the exhaust when I just put Seafoam in the tank. I'd just put it in, let it run for maybe half an hour to mix it up and then store the bike. Seafoam is fine as a fuel preserver (just like Stabil). I don't know that I'd leave it sitting in the carbs all winter through the vac line (or directly.)

I've used seamfoam plenty of times for cars. You usually don't get the white smoke unless you use some in the vacuum lines. There are a couple of ways to use it.
1/3 in tank
1/3 in crank case (Don't forget to change you oil very soon)
1/3 sucked up (slowly!) via vacuum lines
or just pour the whole thing in the gas tank.
