benefits= cosmetics

Disadvantages are a lot of work for no real gain....

Though I would too like to do it one day, I feel I will just buy an RR before I do it

advantages = cosmetics + u can route a custom undertail exhaust without ugly piping running outside the swingarm, the rr swingarm has a hole in it for the exhaust to run thru, it is something I plan on utilizing when I get into doing a custom tail

rr swingarm doesn't have a hole for exhaust, there is a recess behind the right rearset exhaust can be routed through. I did it last year. It looks better, it is stronger, and the 1000rr shock is considerably better than the stock f4/f4i shock. It's not very difficult. Honestly the most difficult thing was getting the correct stainless steel piping and having a machine shop make it slightly under 25mm OD by slightly over 20mm ID as the axle on a 600rr is 25mm and the axle on an f4i is 20mm. Don't skimp there. have the shop make them and cut them to size. Go with stainless too.
