Rough idle 2000 cbr600f4
Hey guys can u help me diagnose this rough idle on this f4. Recently cleaned the carbs and replaced the spark plugs. But I can’t figure out what’s causing that chugging sound. Do I need to sync my carbs? Or replace ignition coils maybe
I just used some carb cleaning spray and air duster to dry it. I also replaced some of the jet components and gaskets. The diaphragms, sliders, and needles looked to be in good shape. Could the carbs maybe be out of sync?
It's possible but unless something was done to the carbs, they usually don't "un-sync". The exception to that is if your valves get out of adjustment. The only way to know if the carbs need to be synced is to put a set of gauges on the carbs.
You probably aren't going to like this but your carbs likely need to be cleaned thoroughly. Each carb has 4 fuel circuits, so 16 in total have to work as one. These circuits are tiny passageways. To clean them, they must be removed from the bike, fully disassembled and soaked or ultra sonic cleaned, most often multiple times to get them clean. Once they are spotless and re-assembled, then you need to sync them.
