Redoing the tank
So Im most likely gonna wrap my tank and Ive read the various posts on the subject however I Haven't decided if I want to paint it instead. Ive looked for other threads on repainting, however, I cant find any that break down the process from a painted tank to stripping it, to priming it and so on. So if anyone knows how to or can direct me to someone who knows how to do it so I can rack their brain; I would be grateful.
thanks

If you want it down to bare metal get some of that spray can paint remover, just don't use it on plastic and don't get it on you! spray it on let it eat the paint for like 10-15 min and rinse, repeat a few times or sand after you got most of it removed. or you can just sand it down with some heavy grade sandpaper.
owe and for painting its not bad to do yourself if you have the right air tools etc. There is prolly some good tut videos on you tube for prep/paint steps.

Yea I want to get it down to bare metal, there is some rust /corrosion and I want to remove it and seal it before I either paint or wrap it.
What I want to do for the whole bike is get a new fairing set from CBR Fairings (the playboy ones to be exact), I called them up and talked to them about removing the decals and shipping it with a 01-03 F4i tail fairing; they said that they would do it for pretty cheap (I use that loosely). And right now Im stuck on deciding if I want to strip the gas tank down, clean and seal it; than either wrap it or paint it.
Although that yellow /black is pretty!

For stripping to bare metal, KleanStrip is just about the best way to go... Welcome to KleanStrip.com . The military & aviation industry use KleanStrip. Also, its readily available at most hardware stores & walmart.
