Re-jetting
Hey guys I'm having a problem with my F4. This is my first motorcycle so I'm still learning.
When the bike is warmed up and I go to stop at a light or something the rpms return to normal, but then they start to bog down once I stop. They sputter down low for a little and if I rev it a couple times then they return to normal idle speed (sometimes). If I just let it go then it'll stall. I replaced the fuel filter, air filter, spark plugs, and put new gas with seafoam in it. It helped a little bit, but I'm thinking the low jets are clogged.
I have a vance and hines exhaust on it and put a K&N air filter in and I've been told I should re-jet it now too. The plugs are also white so that's a sign of not enough gas.
The shop wants around $400 to do it. To me that sounds really high, but is it? I know my way around an engine a bit so do you think it would be easy enough for me to just do it myself? I'm just worried about syncing.
Also what size jets should I get? I'm completely lost on that.

Well I would look at the dynojet stage 1 kit, they make a version for cali and a version for everyone else. If you live in cali but removed the emissions stuff than you will fall under everyone else. There are a few other options mRe by factory pro but the dynojet kit will be the easiest kit for you. Hope it helps.
Oh and that quote does seem high, make sure they are not charging you for a run on the dyno machine too. I'm going to have the factory pro kit installed by shop near me and its the kit that requires drilling and tuning. They quoted me $350 to have the kit installed and it tuned on a dyno. This isn't a drop in kit like the dynojet one so it sounds like they are upcharging you. Man its great to live near two tracks really makes the shops prices competitive I guess.

Thank you that helped a lot. I saw the stage 1 kit and debated on that or universal jets, but i'll get the kit. I bought a liquid pro tuner for syncing too and the service manual has a good how-to part on syncing.
The shop that quoted me 400 is the only motorcycle shop in town and the next shop is an hour away so everyone is kind of at their mercy. Plus they're always busy so who knows when my bike would get worked on.

Too late, already picked up the kit for half price online before finding the following parts list. Im hoping after my pilot jets get a good clean and the rest of the kit is installed all will be good.
