Oil change

Default Oil change

Doing a oil change this weekend and was just wondering how many liters I need as this is my first go, already got the filter and cup wrench. Just gotta get the oil now.

Is changing the oil on our bikes as simple as it is on a car? Pull the drain plug, pull the filter, close the drain, install the filter, use a funnel to fill it up. Then carefully lean the bike up off the kickstand to check that the oil level is correct.

I'd start it and let it run for 20-30 seconds to let the oil circulate through the filter. Then shut it off and check the level after 10 minutes so the oil can settle down.

Don't forget to put a film of fresh oil on the filter gasket before you screw it on. I don't think they do this at the factory, which is why my first oil change on any new vehicle is always a bear to get that filter off.
