new tire any suggestions
I always peddle these when people ask about tires.

But before you listen to someone else say, I would never ride on those, I can vouch for two summers riding on these tires and there just as comparable to the D208's I used to run. My brother also has a season and a half experience with his. If they can sponsor and race them I think they can handle our pathetic street riding. I'll never buy a different tire ever again.

Do you have any experience with them on the track?
Nope sorry I live in Montana, but I do do know a few 20-30 mile stretches of road that you can ride with out passing a car in either direction most days. So you can imagine the kind of use I put these tires through.
These are tempting me next but I do a lot of long rides so they might be out of the question.

I'm just in a pinch on my track bike build...and although I have the sensibilities to be one of those guys who would say "NO WAY" to those tires, the price tag looks really tempting.
I'm running Michelin Power Pures on my F4 and I love them. I have three trackdays on them and they're holding up well. I like them a lot better than the Pilot Power 2CTs since the Power Pures have a much larger percentage of the soft rubber compound on the sides.
The Q2s are a great tire as well. I haven't ran them on the track, but a few of my riding buddies swear by them. I have a set on my Busa and it does quite well in the twisties on them. You can find these on sale for $199-$220 a set through a few online retailers.

The minor price difference between the Q2, which is probably the most highly regarded street/track tire, and the "remanufactured" Tomahawks make this decision a no-brainer IMHO. Dunlop uses state-of-the-art manufacturing and dual compound construction. Using racers as an example in support of the Tomahawks, who deal with very specific riding conditions, is not applicable. (and that Ebay ad is citing tests and reviews from 2005!) And most racers will swap out their tires much more frequently due to heat cycles.
Cheaping out on your only connection between your bike and the road is a bad decision. Tire technology (dual compounds, lightweight carcasses, etc...) has come a long way in the past few years and I would take advantage of this. Leave the Tomahawks to the stunters.
