Default New problem motor noise

Ok so I finally got the bike up and running and have noticed a small noise coming from the motor, it almost sounds like a slapping noise so I’m thinking maybe the timing chain? It goes away when u hit the throttle, and the noise does not get worse when doing so. Ive rode the bike and you can’t tell there is anything wrong nor can you hear the noise. Well any help would be much apperiated. Also is there a timing chain adjustment?

Does it sound a car lifter that has been sticking? It also could be the common CCTL that is going bad.

I have the exact same problem (99 F4), and i was wondering the same thing... The noise has always been there, and it doesn't get any worse, but it wont go away... I thought it might be the cam chain tensioner needing adjusting.... but i dunno

read threads b4 and thats probably it, the stock cct you cant adjust so
you have to buy a new one , the ape ones are adjustable where the the stock ones arent
i have a 2000 cbr600f4 same as your 99 its really easy to replace i have 32000
miles on my bike and havent changed it yet, changed the whole head over the winter
tho because i procrastinated on doing a valve adj. VERY IMPORTANT TO DO VALVE ADJ
AT CORRECT INTERVALS!!!!!!! cant express that enough u dont want what happen to me
to happen to you . its easier to do a valve job than to change the head
