Hey! My name is Heather. I am a full time student going for a teaching degree, a single Mom (10 yr old girl and bun in oven - yes single). Bestmom is my name because that is my hobby landscapeing business.(6years) I have riden all my life(31 years). Was taught by my big bro Kenny who was killed 6-26-08 on his R6. I have a 01' Sv 650 and an 99 CBR F4, need some help with the Honda. I have not been able to retitle it and need to get it legal, or close. I need a titlable scrape bike OR a titlable frame. Plus looking for spiort riders in NE Iowa to hook up with this season.

Your best bet I think would be to post in the "wanted" classified section. You may be able to get some help there.

Heather,

Not sure of your situation but maybe this will help some. My bike didn't have a title when I first got it. The process was INCREDIBLY easy in my state (VA). I simply went to the dmv, requested the ownership information, then sent the owner a letter via certified mail, explaining the situation. After 30 days from him signing for receipt of the letter (or if it is returned undeliverable) you can simply apply for an abandoned vehicle title and you will recieve a CLEAN title. There is obviously some risk that the owner will SHOW up and reclaim the bike so this might not work in your situation. My owner actually called and apologized and said he would come get it and I explained that I had bought it to fix without a title and didn't want to begin the process ($$) of fixing it before I was sure I could get a title for it - in my case that was the actual truth, but that might be a way to go if you use this method and you wind up forced to figure out a way for him/her not to show up.

That was kind of rambled - sorry.

Thanks folks! Ya, we (me and Kaitlyn my 10 years old daughter) put 17k-20k a season. If any of ya'all ever get to NE Iowa geta hold of us! Found out bike has junk title so its a new frame, CRUD, more work-make the ride more worth it.

Junk title? As in salvage? I think with a salvage title you just can't get full coverage for it.
