Default New to 600 class

Hi everyone, I am new here and am visiting because i just purchased a 99 CBR 600 F4. My only previous riding experience is about 4500 miles on a 07 Ninja 250. The bike i have now has D&D exhaust and a jet kit. It has custom CBR grips, custom CBR tail lights, flush mounted turn signals. The CBR 600 is a huge step up from the ninja in many ways. I still consider myself a rookie rider so any and all advice given would be much appreciated.

The bike has been dropped on both sides from what i can tell do to minor scrathcing on the lower fairings. I just ordered a new front and rear tire and purchased a K&N oil filter and new oil and plan on doing a nice tune up on it for this summers riding season.

Welcome to the forum & congrats on getting your F4.

A few battle scars are ok, as long as the bike is mechanically sound.

Be careful out there.

Nice looking bike, I like you choices in upgrades! Shows alot about someone who instead of buying framesliders, decals, is buying tires.

oh yeah first upgrades are most deff tires and oil change....Next will be a new chain..id rather have my engine and important parts working well before i do something cosmetically for the bike... I have read alot about the -1/+2 sprocket i believe i am going to look into that..
Also the PO said something about a performance clutch kit was installed...The main problem i have with this bike is the brake lever on the handlebar seems like i have to squeeze hard to get it to work like the brake cable is to tight...

Yea a good set of tires will save your butt more than anything else. But if you do end up wanting frame sliders I have an extra set of vortex ones, pucks and the bases. So hit me up, after the tires.

Howdy and welcome

so reading your post above made me scratch my head when you mentioned your main problem with the bike....

"The main problem i have with this bike is the brake lever on the handlebar seems like i have to squeeze hard to get it to work like the brake cable is to tight"

are you talking about the clutch cable?? or you really mean the brake lever? because brakes use fluid

also what tires did you get?

Welcome.. My first bike was a 99 ninja 250 then I moved up to my F4. You will love it.
IMO the seating position is just aggressive enough without beng uncomfortable.. The power is strong and smooth... And they look great.
