Hey my F4 has always had issues with the neutral light it goes on and off when the kick stand down and some times it wont start even if its in neutral or it will be in neutral but the light will be off on panel and if i drop kick stan it kills it what could cause this and how cold i fix it?

There are several possible causes to your described problem. The neutral switch located behind your shift linkage with a single light green wire (honda part number 35600-KE8-003) which provides a ground to your neutral lamp is the most likely suspect especially if the problem doesn't exist while cold, but worsens when the engine is warm, and wiring and connections to it, or a "clutch diode" The tiny fuse box for your bike has a diode that is easily replaced (honda part number 31730-MAS-601 labeled as a harness) The diode costs about ten dollars and switch about fifteen. Bottom line, the switch moves and the diode doesn't so I would lean on the neutral switch. Part numbers listed for 1999 and 2000 bike. I hope that helps. Feel free to ask if you need anything else.

alright il look into getting them its not hardly working at all i cant even stat with stand down but it will go in neutral with it up but light wont show need to get ti fixed very annoying

 

check all wires and connections, then check all these~ clutch switch, neutral switch and clutch switch diode.
