Exclamation Need Help not starting

Ok over the winter I have taken on painting and cleaning my bike as a project to keep me saine. Well its all finished and I put everything back together and the damn thing will not start. I belive its the fuel pump and I know this is a common problem. but I have some questions .

1. I pulled the fuel line going into the carb and when I turn the key I dont get any fuel coming out. Only when I turn the key off do I get a small pulse of fuel coming out .

2. where is this fuel relay I keep hearing about I just want to change it !!!

3. why does this blow so much and why do I keep wiping tears from my eyes !!!!! Lol

any help will be very welcomed

Ok so here is where I'm at in this saga !!! I pulled the fuel pump and hooked it up directly to the battery and it pulses just fine . I pulled the fuel cut off relay and I'm assuming this is what goes bad . My new question is when I hook up the fuel pump without any hoses to the system and turn on the key it only pulses once and this occurs only when I turn the key off . Any thoughts before I spend the 70 dollars on a new relay

Yeah run the fuel gravity feed from the tank to get it running and rule out carb issues. I run mine gravity feed all the time now.

How are you running the lines that you can gravity feed it ? Also don't you experience fuel starvation under heavy load ???

May sound like a dumb question but you turned the fuel valve back on after putting it back together right?
