i have a 2000 f4 and i have it pulled it apart right now.
the choke is stuck in the on position, i disconnected the cable and the cable works fine, but the plate that the cable hooks up to, seems to be locked in place. and in each of the carbs, the choke plates move with ease if i push them with my finger, they just dont move when i slide the plate or the use the choke switch. any help??

 

tap it with a light hammer if the plate does not look bent. if that does not work i would recommend taking the carbs out to really look at it in detail. dont go whacking the **** out of it with the hammer though and make sure there isnt anything stuck on the plate wedging it and keeping it from moving then tap lightly in both directions.
