Mis-shifting
Every now and again when I'm riding hard I mis shift mostly between 1st & 2nd. I very much doubt that its mechanical problems most likely rider error, however my question is am I doing a lot of damage to my transmission when I mis shift?
its not good but, wont kill it at lower milage. higher mile transmissions and mis shifting a lot does not go together well at all, could cause damage. double check the clutch cable adjustments.
when i used to do that a lot i had to pull the clutch in more fully and practice pulling all the way up and pushing all the way down on the gear shifter, taking my time. it takes practice these transmissions tend to be clunky.

Is the toe-shifter properly adjusted?
If it is too high, you're straining to lift it fully into the next gear.
Try adjusting it down a little. The rod between the bell-cranks is adjustable.
Loosen the lock-nuts on either end of the center section.
Then rotate the center section to draw the ends together.
That will bring the shifter down a bit, giving you better leverage on the shift.
Here's a fiche of the assembly, I'm referring to #10...

Lol no it's not arthritis I have however just adjusted the pedal and realised the biggest part of the problem is the little leg on the side stand that you owe to
Put it Down. My foot keeps catching it when I'm trying to tuck my toes under the shifter might have to bend that out of the way
