RE: Miles Per Tank Of Gas
You are having fuel issues apparently. If you can't go over 135, and you are running dry, and having general driveability issues you have some kind of problem.
Pull the tanks off. Check all of the lines to make sure you don't have a hole in one that air is getting into and fuel is escaping OUT of under pressure (not that they have but a few pounds, but never the less, check it).
Replace the fuel hose, and filter. It is 10 bucks worth of materials and might as well be done after you pull the tank off. Rip out the plugs and see if they are all burning evenly. If you have them out I might suggest replacing them. If that doesn't work you probably want to rip the carbs off and look them over to ensure no problems.
You have an issue, it sounds fuel related, so I would take the tank off, and spend an afternoon checking these easy things......
Actually - I would just take an afternoon, clean the carbs, replace the plugs, make sure the air filter is clean, replace the fuel filter & lines, and put it all back together - I would bet you would cure the problem. (OH - something I learned from when I did mine - if you pull all of that stuff off go ahead and replace the thermostat since it is down there. An easy 2 or 3 minutes that COULD help save some time in the long run)

Up in the Tech Section there is a LINK to all of the Manuals. Might be worth Downloading.
The Thermostat is under the tank - you'll see it, once you get everything off. Just follow the radiator hoses......

well it turns out the its running me $180 for me to replace my fuel filter and fuel pump with all the hoses and clamps, some guy took the pump and filter off the bike and was running fuel directly from the petcock to the carbs, totally bypassed the pump and filter. that was the owner previous to me.
