Hi i traded for a 1999 cbr600f4 stunt bike with a bad motor and was wondering if anything besides an F4 motor will fit?

 

a F4i motor will bolt right up. To use the EFI tho you will need the use the F4i wiring harness and electronics Think the head is a bit diff so I dont think you can just bolt the carbs off the f4 to it.

 

ok is there any chance an F3 motor will fit?

 

would take fabricating the mounts to fit. But thats going backards performance wise.

 

what's bad with the motor you got? You'll want to stick with an f4 or f4i engine. The f4 will be the cheapest solution.

 

Well the guy who had it before me stipped out a spark plug hole so were gonna put a heli-coil in it and see if that will work. im gonna keep this engine because when i pulled the head i could see that the pistons had recently been re-ringed because the cylinder walls had a fresh cross hatch patern on them so ill have the valves checked and have a like new motor. All im waiting on is the new head gasket.
