Just bought a new F4 - Question about Title
#11
first off, redmitsu, im generally a nice guy, but you are being a "doucher". look at how gotcbr worded his post, much nicer, no attacking.
I can afford the bike, I wouldnt have bought it if i couldnt. But what I paid for the bike drained my account pretty much, and I had just enough to put insurance on it and get plates, and I don't literally want to drain every single penny out of my account, especially if I could save $100 from taxes. I will be getting a paycheck this friday and will be in fine condition, but i want(ed) to ride it before then.
Regardless, I've got everything taken care of and shes road legal, took'er out today, about 2 hours on my own sticking to back roads and slow areas, and then went out with some buddies and rode for about another 2 hours. put 75 miles on'er today. other than a bit of a sore neck and wrists (sure i'll adjust in time/learn to not push my body so hard) everything went great, and i can easily say im hooked.
I am taking'er home and having a buddy that works on bikes (specifically CBR's) all the time to take a look at'er and help me get'er in top shape, I'll try and get some pics up after the weekend.
Glad to finally have a bike, its a rush, and a great group to be a part of.

I dunno how it is in your state, but typically you should have a bill of sale that corresponds w/ the price on the title.
Also usually "signing over the title" as you described requires a few witnesses to sign as well.
When I bought my 92 a few months ago, we went to a local notary/justice of the peace and she handled all of it, notarized it and all for like $14. that way I need nothing but the notarized title. This is how I do everything I sell that requires a title transfer.
Have never been questioned for the value of a "wrecked" vehicle that I'm "working on"
