My aftermarket blinkers had the same setup. I did the same installation as you and everything works fine. As for the problem, i am guessing that you may have attached the wrong set of wires to one of the blinkers. I blew a fuse also immediately after installing them and that was the problem. I do not know the reason for the three wire setup from factory but one of the more knowledgeable contributors should be able to enlighten us.
The factory has three wires going to each bulb because that light serves two purposes, to be constantly on like a running light and the other is to blink when you use your signals. The bulbs have 2 filaments, one for each purpose. The three wires are ground,+12V constant for the running light, and 12V flash from your turn signal relay. If possible i'd return those and get a set of three wire lights, or use them in the rear, they are two wire lights. Or you could wire the ground on the light to the fatory ground wire, and the positive from the light to the 12v flash factory wire. This would make them only come on when yo use your signals but would have no running light. If you do it any other way, the light will be on all the time or you will blow fuses like what is happening now. Hope this helps.
I have the same ones on my 2005 cbr 1000, when I hooked them up they all stayed on, even the ones on the dash. All you have to do is just cut the extra power wire with the strip on it and put some electrical tape on them. The power back feeds threw the system with both power wires connected.
you COULD wire in relays to blink the light with your 2 wire flush mounts... so that they would always be on and when you turn signal on it would intermitenty turn off your running light.
you COULD also wire them so they are not a running light anymore but only a turn signal.
lemme know if you need more help i can give u a hand

I put flush mounts on the front and had the same problem. Lucky my buddy who was there was able to figure it out. One wire is a constant feed for the running lights. Do not hook this one up. The second wire is the power supply for the turn signals. Hook this one up. The third white wire is the ground. Hook this one up also. After doing this all was cool. If you use LED's, they use less power and you will have to change out the resister or they will blink like a 5yr old on a sugar high.
i am having the same problem, but i am not sure if i am using the right colored wires...ones green, ones blue and the other is blue with a white stripe. I am not sure which on is the running light, the blinker and the negative......
My buddy who was helping me had a tester to see which one was what. I know the white wire is the ground, but which of the other two I could not tell you. You have to test them. One will show a constant current and the other will show intermitent current when you put the signal on. I hope this is of some help.
