Hesitation on highway only..
I have '99 CBR600FX (F4) approx 56 000 kms.
I found the bike would "Hesitate" which escalates to loses power at about 5 000 rpm, would not accelerate, and would gradually slow, tried dropping to fifth gear, same effect. Drop to fourth gear, end of problem, would cruise all day in fourth @ 100 Km/h approx 7 000 rpm in fourth, discovered (on a private test track) that if I increased speed and cruised in sixth @ 6 500 rpm or higher, no hesitation, obvious issue related to road speed not withstanding.
Now my bike had other issues, which I have gradually resolved; like a P/O that "Scotch- locked" a power lead for heated grips, to the main power wire just below the fuse box; and then removed them before selling the bike, and an immobiliser that was wired in to everything, so I replaced the main loom, with a new genuine one.
Hesitation continued, so I replaced all four coils and the coil harness; hesitation continued,
Thought maybe it is "leaning out" ordered a "jet kit"; whilst waiting for it to arrive I discovered the TPS was miles "out of range" so I ordered an new one, which has finally arrived, three and a half months later, have fitted, both jet kit , and TPS, set TPS initial resistance as per the manual, and will update, with results.
