So we recently had some bad weather, so i decided to do some simple maintenance on the bike. Oil, Fuel filter, chain cleaning/tightening, etc. So anyways we finally get a nice day to ride and i'm SOL and can't find my original Honda key, so i had to drive all the way to my rents house to get my spare. Get back finally ready to ride and the bike wont start. This is where you come in, cuz I am really stumped as to why the bike wont start.
Some important things to know are that Yes there is gas in the lines and yes the fuel filter was installed correctly, one thing however that i did notice is that the fuel pump isn't firing on when the key is turned on. This could quite possibly be a faulty fuel pump or a faulty fuel pump relay, but like i said i'm not positive. Another thing is i know there are a few bikes out there that only work with the original key, i pray to god that this isn't the case for this bike. Any ideas will be appreciated, and if anyone knows anyway of diagnosing problems like this that would be awesome!
Btw its a 2000 Honda CBR F4
Thanks

An F4 will start w/a copy, no problem.
Battery charged?
Battery terminals secure?
Fuses good?
Connectors connected?
Also, check your starter switch. Sometimes as they age, they'll start to stick & malfunction. You can go crazy testing everything under the sun, only to find out the switch is the problem.
Take a look at the trouble-shooting procedures in the factory shop manual as well.
Hope you get it going asap. Good luck.
