Really? So what can be done to fix it and why does it happen? It seems very uncharacteristic of Honda's.

Not sure what wrong with it yet cause it all looks pretty good but the fork has some minor damage on it but it doesn't look severe enough to be causing it to grind.

Interesting, that's really cool you are able to tear down your engine like that. Any pics?

I have a few on an picture album I made, I'm new to the forum so I'm not sure how to post more than 1 pic in this post. So I have a few pics on my profile.

You're going to be looking for unusual pitting/grooves on the drum. And you should only see slight wear on where the shift fork touches the dogs on the cogs. If you see excessive wear over the whole half moon, you have problems.

I checked out the pics, take some up close ones of the drum and shift forks.

To post pics, your best bet is to use photobucket. Upload your pics there, and paste the IMG code here. Put as many links as you want on each post.

Quick update: After getting the cases split, I looked at the shift dogs and saw that the corners were chipped off, so I bought a whole new assembly and now I have the new one sitting in the cases.

So I got the replacement transmission in and now I'm just wondering if there is any gaskets, bolts, or anything I need to replace before I put everything back together? Thanks
