Default Help.Looking at an F4. Needs Ignition.

Well I sold my F3 last week and I'm looking for a new project. I found a 99 F4 near me for $1000. The guy also has a set of F4i fairings for it (not sure if it's a full set or not).

He said the previous owner had a different key for the gas tank and ignition and broke one off in the ignition. So I would esentially be buying it without hearing it run.

I've read that the F4 has an immobilizer system so would this be a simple swap of a part? Or will I have to go to a dealer, get a new key/ignition and have it programmed? Any help/opinions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Why spend $1000 on a headache? Spend the money to get a quality bike.. JMO.. project is fun but you have to come to terms that you wont be riding all that soon in exchange for any savings..
