Default helmet mounting camera?

does anyone know of a good brand helmet mount camera i can get to record some rides? would be cool to get one that could record your speed as well on the screen while riding. that could be done with a GPS sensor or something.

anyhow, just curious if anyone know of a good brand that can shoot 1080p or 720p.

Are you looking for something for inside or outside?

inside you can go FlipMinoHD, CreativeVadoHD or the new Kodak Playsport as long as you have the room in the front.. outside something like the ContourHD or GoProHD would fit the bill.

Turbulenz makes some good suggestions. I have the GoPro. Its good for what it is. There's been some amazing steps in inexpensive video in the past year. Somewhere on the forum here, there was a guy that got a keychain video camera for like $6-10 that took some pretty good video. You could find that w/a quick search.

lI have 2 of those keychain cameras too.. similar looking but different versions.. they dont shoot HD but they are 720x480... for the money, you can't beat them..

I also have a VadoHD and a Flip Mino (nonHD)

Most of what you see on TV uses two diff devices and then they do an overlay during editing.

PlayfulGod, that is exactly what I was looking for! thanks for telling me about this. The ContourGPS looks like it will do what I want.
$350 might be a lot since i don't plan on recording a lot. but maybe I will try save up some $$ and test it out.

Oregon Scientific also have a camera with GPS capability.

Either that or the Contour will make a nice little box of evidence for the Police to confiscate.
