Headlight issue.
Hey all. I've been a member for a while but haven't been on in a while.
so i have the same basic issue that everyone else has. Headlight wont work when key is on. So i checked the wiring at the starter switch and it all looks good. I gotta figure out how to get the switch cluster off without effing up the throttle cable. I also dont seem to have any power where the bulb plugs in.
any help would be appreciated.
thanks.

Does it start? Will it stay running as long as starter button held down? Do u hear fuel pump go on when u turn key on? If so leave key on the on position and wiggle wires on left side of headlight. If u hear fuel pump go on and headlight goes on when wiggling wire around then that Is ur problem. Make sure they are all plugged in good. Mine did what ur is doing and that was my problem. I just made sure everything was plugged n good on left side of headlight. Right between front fairing and the black air intake is a where I found problem. Two wire connectors are in there Hope this is ur problem cause if so it won’t cost u a dime to fix. I didn’t even have to take front fairing off.

So the bike itself will start with no problems. I ended up taking the switch apart and the wiring looks good. With the bike running I would push on the switch from inside the box and the light would turn on. So the issue is the switch. I ended up buying a new switch assembly from the local dealer. For now I am going to leave it alone and tackle it over the winter when I have some time. I am also going to try to make a video of the repair. I will definitely post it when I get it taken care of.
Thanks again for all the help
