Default GP Shifting & Shift indicator..

Well I need a new pair of shoes.. but since i just spent 70$ at walmart for a new battery (old ninja 500 left a hole in the top from shifting =/) so somtimes i have a hard time shifting (and my ankle isnt as strong on my left side) i really want to try GP shifting and i think i will later tonight but ill only be riding on street... so it will be easier and more interesting i guess.. thoughts?

i would like to know of any cheap shift indicators you guys have found or installed that will wire up easy to the F4..? i found a 5$ one on ebay and thats pretty good price point lol..

GP shift is fun but it takes getting used to at first, take the bike to a parking lot than change the shift rod and tool around the parking lot for awhile. Its a lot lot like learning how to ride for the first time again. Not sure if you can do it with the stock rearsets though. You do need to remove the front sprocket cover to make room for the shift rod and arm. As far as cheap electronics for bikes =

Here is a thread on it for an F4i which should be fairly close to the F4.

So i took it to the bike shop to get a wrench and have them help me convert to gp style.. We got it spun around but it wouldnt shift up cause it kept hitting.. so i took of the Rod and made the bolts tighter which i put in the vice they had.. and that aparently cross threaded one side of the rod they wanted to charge me 55$ to rethread the end.. but the manager was sympathetic and got one of the guys to fix it.. for free to get me home lol

Now is there a shorter linkage or somthing because i just want to bolt on and go.. this was supposed to take like 10 minutes and it took a whole hour to fix and its still normal..

People say the VFR linkage works..

can someone help me with this so i can order a part and get this GP shifting over with..

a 929 rod would work apparently..

who has done this on the F4.. Not F4i i would appreciate it for your input

should i take it off the rod one more time.. the end twords the shifter is tightened as far as it will go in.. but the front of the rod (to the lever) wont tighten anymore.. do i need a shorter rod or a ZX-10 Front linkage..?

that video is accurate to the F4, Ive done the GP shift on my bike but I have a set of woodcraft rearsets. I ride it around my neighborhood but my bike isnt street legal right now.

so can i do GP style with the stock rearsets?? i just want this to work with what i got.. everyone says its possible.. ill take another crack at it once i get a 10mm wrench.. the nut on the side near the shifter isnt going anywhere i dont think thats threaded in as far as it can.. and so is the rod connecting to the rearset.. now i need to screw that otherside in more. Then it wont hit anymore when i try to down shift? or do i need to bend the rod slightly while its all connected so it wont hit..?
