Default Fuel cut?

So I have a 2000 cbr 600 f4 in the yellow and black bumblebee scheme. Just picked it up a couple of weeks ago. Bike runs great, has a full D&D exhaust set up, has been jetted and tuned, stupid quick machine. I have zero issues with the bike. I however experienced what i would consider a fuel cut at 13.5 rpm (redline) while in second gear. At 13.5 rpm the power cuts right out and then comes right back on, at which point I remembered I was supposed to shift up, i was getting a little annoyed by slow traffic and got a little too focused going by them lol.
My thoughts were okay its been tuned and jetted so maybe under load the original oem fuel pump just cannot produce the fuel needed after 13.5 rpm or is there some type of fuel cut (limiter) that is causing the fuel cut on purpose as to avoid causing damage to the engine? I have zero problems with it running/shifting/anything. I experienced this on my way home from helping my buddy put his r6 back together. Is this supposed to happen or should I be upgrading the fuel pump to a higher flow pump?

Here is my Bumblebee or white nosed wasp if you prefer lol

Sound like you are finding the rev limiter. It's designed to keep you from damaging your engine.

You're taking a 23-year-old bike to the redline and ask why it won't go further?

Ignitor cuts spark at 13.5K-rpm to protect engine. Probably don't want to rev it that high.

Here's what can happen...

That's going to take at least 3 tubes of JB Weld to fix.

Didn't mean to give it the full send in second just kinda happened much faster than my 900rr, I quickly found out shifting is much sooner then I was expecting to have to lol. I thought it may be some type of governor to prevent damaging the motor. I don't plan on 13.5k'ing the motor regularly lol, glad to know it's probly the gov. Thank you for the help.

Not possible on this one, but on later models with re-programmable ECU, I usually set rev-limiter 1000-rpms lower than factory just to make it easier on engine in case I miss a shift or gear pops out @ track.
