Default Front Brakes??

I have a 99' CBR600f4. I just got fresh front and back tires, plus new back brake pads (only set me back $29 for rear pads)... It's now time for new front brake pads before i start wearing down the rotors...

What pads do you guys recommend?

Where can i find pads for a good price? (the stealer-ship is asking $36.95 per pair...)

I mainly use my bike for a daily driver, no track or stunting for me yet....

Will these fit/work okay? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HONDA...QQcmdZViewItem

Thanks!

I was running stock Honda pads on my 2000 F4. When it was time, I wanted something less expensive & went w/ EBC...& disliked them. I went back to factory Honda pads & I'm very happy w/ them. I get good long life out of them w/ all types of riding.

I did get the pads thru my local Honda dealer. Sorry, don't have the price info in front of me but they were comparably priced (just slightly more expensive) to EBC but much better pads.

i love ebc i have on all my bikes. but buy your tires and pads from a known company they are the only thing keeping you melon off the pavement. braking, FERODO, ebc, honda, dp, and galfer are the ones to use.

So would you guys avoid using these pads? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HONDA...QQcmdZViewItem

The only reason i'm being so cheap is that i just picked the bike up last month and since had to put on front and rear tires and rear brake pads. It has kinda cleaned me out for now... I'm just worried that if i wait and try to save up some $$ to get spendy pads i will also have to buy new rotors...

for about 40 you can buy the cheaper ebc's from a online retailer shipped. just do some searching. you get what you pay for. and cheap is never the answer for anything longterm or life depent.

Considering that i don't go to the track or push the bike very hard, will i notice much of a difference when it comes to stopping power?

I understand that the cheap pads will wear faster, but will they stop me about the same?

Any decent brake pad will probably work just fine for you if you are doing normal daily riding.

$36.95/pair for the factory pads, if that's what you're talking about, is a decent deal. Bike Bandit sells them for $38.33... http://www.bikebandit.com/houseofmot...4-1999/o/m2048 . I've dealt w/ Bike Bandit & never had any problems whatsoever. They're always very helpful. However, it looks like they are higher than your local shop.

Too, if you get them from your local shop, get them home, & discover something is wrong w/ either, you can simply return/exchange them...problem solved. If you order them off ebay or wherever, you really have no guarantees...stated or otherwise. They may be a perfectly legit company but you'll have to deal w/ shipping & time delay. Plus, if there is a problem, you'll have the return situation. Its your choice.

To each his own. I simply didn't prefer the low cost basic inexpensive EBC pads. I will say this though to be clear, the factory Honda pads are superior to EBC's cheapest pads...no question about it. I'm sure their other very fine offerings are indeed performers.

Good luck in your decision.

I run Galfer high performance brake pads. Ran the track once with them and they performed great and do the same for just straight commuting. (60 miles 4 days a week) They ran me little over thirty bucks a pair from cycle gear.
