Default Frame Slider Location

I’m in the process of mocking up frame sliders for my CBR600 F4 and haven’t drilled the holes in the fairings just yet. I’ve positioned the sliders in a spot that connects to the engine block, which seems to be a standard placement based on photos I’ve seen online.

That said, I’m aware that frame sliders can sometimes cause more harm than good, depending on their placement. My concern is that this setup might transfer too much force to the engine block if the bike were to tip over or crash. As a new rider, this is my first bike, and I’ve already had one spill. Thankfully, I’m an autobody technician and am repainting the fairings as part of the recovery process.

Additionally, I’m wondering if there are other spots on the bike where frame sliders could be installed for added protection. I’ve seen some riders place sliders near the rear swingarm or on the lower frame to safeguard other critical components. If anyone has experience with alternative placements, I’d love to hear your thoughts!

I’d really appreciate your advice on whether this placement is safe or if I should reconsider. Hearing from those with more experience would help alot.
