Question Converting 99-00 cbr6004 to 2001 cbr600f4i front end/headlights

New to the forums, I just acquired a 2000 cbr600f4 last season, and am tearing it down, cleaning, and rebuilding it because it was in roughish shape. I almost have the bike all the way down to just the frame and motor. and haven't noticed anything too crazy other than some minor wiring problems, a somewhat stripped out oil pan drain, and my front stay bracket is bent and broken in one place. This is my first street bike, so I don't have any experience working on them, but I am at least a little mechanically inclined. Just wondering how difficult of a job converting the front end (stay cowl and headlight area) over to the f4i front end would be? Is it pretty much plug-and-play type work or am I going to have to fabricate my own parts to fit? I've tried looking around the forums to find help but a lot of links are dead, and some just don't really help. I'm especially wondering about the headlight wiring, from what I've looked at with wiring diagrams and even comparing how the plugs look online, it looks like it would just plug straight into the headlight? Or will I need to get an adapter of some kind or wire it myself? I know the front stay basically lines up perfectly and just bolts straight up to the frame, and that I will need to get the front cowl, but is there anything else I am going to need to convert it? Will I need to get an F4i speedo and wire it up? Or will I be able to keep my f4 speedo? Any info is appreciated thanks.

Looking on Partzilla, https://www.partzilla.com/catalog/ho...per-cowl-01-06, the parts look very different.

If you’re having to change the front cowl then it will almost certainly not match up with the rest of the fairing.

I don’t know but it looks a far bigger job than you think.

yes, I have compared the front cowls on parts websites like partzilla, and know the cowls and stay brackets are very different. But where they actually bolt to the frame looks to be the exact same. I know I will need to get the f4i stay cowl A and B to replace my current stay cowl and also will need to get the actual cowl set plastics to house the headlights and everything. All of that seems to be fairly simple (at least in my eyes) as I would just basically be replacing the whole front cowl set with the f4i variant. I was more wondering about the wiring for this project as it is one place I lack any experience in. Thank you for the insight though and I understand this project will probably be a little more than I can handle, but trial and error hasn't done me wrong yet.

Here is a link I looked up when I considered the conversion. On post #10 in the link look at the guys signature line and it shows links to his F4 to F4i front end conversion. After reading his posts if you don't have a donor bike it seems like to much for the conversion. David
