That's right, you can take your ride to Irwindale and race the 1/8 of a mile agaist some other bikes for $20 bucks for the whole night and you can even race the sheriff department. It sounds that you got hook on the drag but don't do it on the street, the last thing you need is some idiot on the cellcutting in front of you, and guess who is going to lookbad. "The bike that came from nowhere or the poor lady on the car? People hate us already don't give more **** to them to talk about. Good luck and be safe!

ORIGINAL: Tahoe SC

Sharpshooter....iwas just being a sarcastic yet funny *****.my point is that street racing is dangerous so be safe!!!
now if you are going to drag and do so SAFELY...this is what you should know:

as far as F4...it's pretty fast against the other bikes...just gotta make sure you get the launch down. other bikes (newer) may pull more in higher RPM range and higher speed, that's why you gotta focus on the launch to get the jump. most guys can't launch worth beans. our bikes may be down on HP but what the bike doesn't have, we can make up for in rider ability...something most don't have. the SV is a very fun bike but it's a twin so it runs out of RPMs much faster than the F4, but the newer bikes will pull. also, remember you can always changeyour gearing to make the bike accelerate faster.

for your f4 i would go with -1/+2 cause they are geared a bit soft from the factory.
don't race katanas cause they are heavy and bulbous...i've seen grandmas in wheel chairs go faster off the line...so it's not too great...beat guys in F4is, RRs, older R6 and you're stoked...beat gixxers even more stoked. beat the 05 and up bikes and you're golden!

got it? now next time i want to see this:

So it was 2am andthe street was completely empty and i saw an RR...and then i gave the friendly biker nod, but he wanted some...so we went at it and i launched hard...and i won.
Its funny you mention the jump because I think my clutch is at is last leg because it doesn't start to grab until very close to the end of the lever travel yet still has the spec amount of freeplay. So I ordered the barnett clutch kit from 58 cycle and also got a K&N air filter because the original is pretty much toast. Hopefully the new clutch will give me some more grabbage that I need. Are these good clutches?

yes they are good clutches, but more for racing. the stock clutch is actually very good.

did you try readjusting your cable?

if the clutch is going out, you'll get slippage in gear...so it revs high and the bike doesn't move much.
