SV650 vs. CBR600F2
1999 SV650 Naked - LOTS of goodies, SS brakes lines, cruise control bar ends, holeshot exhaust, jet kit, seargent seat, bridgestone BT-016 tires, racetec suspension, regeared lower, frame sliders. GREAT shape. 37,000 Miles.
OR
1993 CBR600F2 Bone stock 6,000 miles. Fairings have a few scratches here and there, rip in seat with tape covering it. Runs good, clip ons seem alittle bent though.
I love both bikes, what do you guys thinK?

What do you want out of your bike? The SV has a sublime powerplant which is easy to use and supplies plenty of power. It has better brakes than the F2. The stock suspension is unforgivably bad for any bike that purports to have any sporty pretensions. That alone is enough for me not to want one without the full GSXR front end/rear end swap. The more aggressive riding position and inline 4 power help out too. I don't think you can go too wrong with either though.

The '99 SV front end is absolute garbage. No adjustable and super soft. It feels like an EX250. It's great for commuting but it is awful when actually pushing it. It's definitely not as good as the stock F2, even with the stock F2's fairly soft damping rod front end.

Well as I said in the first post I have racetec suspension LOL. So the suspension (racetec) is far better than the F2's actually. I would agree that the stock suspension on the SV sucks, thats why I went to the racetec. Heres the scenario, the SV is my bike that I have owned for years. Last week the shift lever broke on a down shift so while I am waiting for the part to fix it, my friend let me borrow his F2. I heard he is interested in selling it so I was thinking about making an offer. The offer would be for like 1500? I think I could get atleast 2 for the SV. I like the 100hp of the F2, but I also like the power delievery and low-midrange of the SV. I think the F2 sounds a little better and the fairings make it more comfortable on the interstate, but around town the upright seating position make the SV more comfortable. Insurance is very comparable on the two bikes, (50 more per YEAR for the F2). So now knowing all that, what do you guys think?
