f4 runs like crap
What would make my bike run good untill you hold it to 5 grand then it starts cutting out and then smoking? The plugs are new and i suspect the carbs need to be put in sync. Has anyone had this problem?
Well i took the carbs off and apart for a second look today and found a black piece of plastic about the size of a bb in one of the carbs. No clue how it got there or what it is. I hope it was holding the float open and making it flood out. I will put it back togather sometime tonite and see if it helped. I still havent found anyone with a sync tool yet and im sure a dealer would charge an arm and a leg to do it.
Yea thats probly what i will end up doing. I figured i would adjust the valves since the bike has 30,000 miles on it but took off the valve cover and i have no idea how you do anything so i will probably leave it alone and just hope the carb sync will fix it. Can the carbs bein outta sync really make it miss on one cylinder at a certain rpm or is there sumthin else wrong with the bike?
One more thing also When i got the bike i got it at a salvage place and it turned out to have had a jet kit in it and someone had took the main jets and the idle jets out of it and left the needles and springs still in the carbs. Guess they didnt know what they was doing. Anyways i got another set of carbs off ebay and used the jets needles and springs in mine. i think thats all i would have to do to change the carbs back to stock right?
