F4 Hard to get moving from a stop
Hello,
I have a 99 f4 that I just got for a great price. I have been trying to get it running smoothly for a while and have run into a problem I just can't figure out. I got the bike in barely running condition. It would run with full choke and then die if you gave it any throttle. So I broke it down and replaced the spark plugs, air filter and cleaned the carbs. It run smoothly now and will rev but the problem comes when I take off from a complete stop. It takes a lot of gas and clutch play to get the thing moving but after it is moving and past 2.5k rpms it runs just fine. I am lost at what to do now... This is my first carb bike so any help would be greatly appreciate
Thanks.

First, is the idle set to the right rpms? Stupid question, but through lurking on these boards I've seen many problems come from that. I believe it should be 1400 +/-100.
Do you have any mods on the bike? Exhaust, air filter, modified air box, etc. To me (and you might wanna get a second opinion just in case) it sounds like it's starving for gas. The carb jets could be clogged. Again, many problems with the carbed bikes from this. Maybe take the carbs apart again, make sure the pilot and main jets are completely cleared and there's no small pieces of dirt in any holes and see if that helps.
If it doesn't then the next step might be rejetting the carbs.
