Default Engine Died While Riding, No Start

Whats up gents...I'll just get right to the problem.

Thursday night I was out riding, accelerating hard through a tunnel.
Around 11k in 4th gear, I lost power. Twisted the throttle with no responce.
Coasted to the end of the tunnel and let the bike sit, tried to restart it with no sucess.
Tried to de-flood the engine and no sucess.
Got it started once with the choke on, rev'd it up, but then it died when I laid off the throttle.
The engine didn't sound right both times when it started.
Got it started again and again died if I let off the throttle.
Threw the bike in the back of the truck and home.

Today, again no luck starting it.
Took the fairings, tank and air box off.

Opened the fuel petcock and fuel flowed out freely.
Sprayed Starting Fluid in the carbs, still no start.
Watched the fuel pump suck the fuel out of what was left in the fuel filter (new so still clear).
So just pulled the plugs and will post some pictures of them when I get to it.
Before I start going through the rest of the troubleshooting process, anyone have any hints/tips or ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Can die for a lot of reasons and without more info on to what it did or is doing its hard to answer. However, mine acted similar when the carb jets got clogged. Got it started once or twice with the choke and wot but the second you let off it died......and it sounded odd as well. Not running on all cyl and backfired as well. If that is the case the only way you'll fix it is to remove the jets and clean them. Great howtos on here as well. But again without more info I'm not sure.

My money is actually on the battery. I am in the process of purchasing a CBR F4 right now, but Im currently riding a Kawasaki Ninja. I was riding home from delaware, went to pull out at a stoplight and just boom, no power, no lights, no nothing. So I coasted into a gas station. It would try to start but never actualy turn over, and then I had some guys jump me from a truck and it was running really funny, tac jumping all over the place, reving up and down, and twist the throttle and flatline. Check the battery, if its what happened to mine, one of the interior cells either burst or somehow combined with another. I hope that helps.

Now that the forum will allow me to post FINALLY, here's the latest.

I bought a compression test gauge and here are the results:

#1: 60psig
#2: 150 psig
#3: 155 psig
#4: 145 psig

Something happened to my #1 cylinder, now just have to figure out what.
All the values are less than the stated book value of 178 psig.
Hpe that its just a valve and not something in the block....

Yeah, not really what I want to hear.
But at this point I just want to either get it fixed or work on finding a new engine.

Guessing the only way to tell is to take the head off?

doesnt low compression in one cyclinder normally indicate a bad exhaust valve? low compression in all cylinders would suggest rings
either way it sucks...how many miles you have on the bike?

Well I'm done, pulled the head and its fine, no holes in the piston so blown piston ring.
I'm done trying to track down F4 engines and done trying to fix this one.
It treated me well.
Going to part it out and save up for an 2009.
Thanks to everyone for their help.
