dirty carbs???
Here is my problem, I have a 2000 f4 and have had the carbs cleaned twice and the tank flushed along with changing the fuel filter. If the bike sits for any length of time usually 1 to 2 weeks it will start but then just dies like its running out of gas. If you touch the choke it stalls, touch the throttle it stalls. I just cant believe the carbs get dirty that quick. When it happens I lift the tank remove the fuel line from the tank and blow into it. The bike then starts and runs perfectly! I use ethanol additive and this still happens. I am at a loss and am tired of taking it to the shop and haveing them telling me they found nothing or they cleaned the carbs again.. Any help would be greatly appreciated....

lets back it up for a second......
when you lift the tank up to remove the fuel line and you blow into it. are you blowing from tank to fuel pump or fuel pump to carbs?
if its tank to fuel pump which I believe your trying to say.. sounds like to me your fuel pump is messing up.. and so happens I have a spare I can sell you cheap if you like.
also when they said "cleaned the carbs" what kind of cleaning did they do ? did they go into detail what they did to clean the carbs..,,
while I don't suspect the carbs being the problem. it can be your fuel pump or fuel filter causing the trouble. I suggest taking off your fuel fliter and plug directly into your carb and see what happens and dont worrie it isn't going to hurt anything I don't have a fliter on mine
