I have no idea what ultima light means, never heard it before. BUT the difference in the F4 and F4i is that the F4 has carbs and the F4i is fuel injected. AS for the 'f' thing..... still at a loss. I know CBR is suppose to stand for "cafe bike racer" or something to that effect.

CBR doesnt stand for anything... lots of suggestions/guesses but Mr.Honda said it was nothing.
The F4 is just as fast as the F4i, only it has way more comfort.
Personally, I would never choose a F4i over an F4 ... why give up the comfy seat
(especially the passenger seat) and better ergos (F4i has lower bars etc) all for looks?

If you are into modding, then the F4i is better... but even then you should save your money
for a better bike like a 600RR, its already faster then a modd'd F4i.

hi,
the only thing i can think of with the "ultima lite" thing is that honda makes a different version of the cbr called a "reduced effect" bike that has lower horse power. im not sure if thats the case with yours. has anyone else heard of the reduced effect bike? check out this link. you can choose any brand andyear of bike and it will give you all the stats. http://www.bikez.com/years/index.phphttp://www.bikez.com/years/index.php

Hi, the ultima light is a special edition 600F that Honda released prior to the injected model, it was an answer to Suzuki releasing the newer gsxr. It proved the cbr wasn't just a touring bike as it had 118bhp which back then was good for a 600, I've heard it was hondas inspiration for the sport that then led to the RR models being put into production.
Hope this sheds some light, I love em.

Spo.

Difference between F4 and F4i is that the 'i' is injected. It also has a dual headlight as opposed to the F4's single (dual filiament bulb) headlight.

Ignore the comment that the F4i is less comfortable because that only applies to the '01/'02 F4i (also known as the "FS" depending where in the world you are) which had a split seat like the RR. When the RR came out ('03 I believe) they went back to the banana seat on the F4i which was made until '07.

The 'utlima light' thing means nothing as far as I know. I have a '99 F4 which (before I painted it black) had a decal that said 'Ultima light' on the rear fairing. It is no different than any other '99/'00 F4 other than (also depending on where in the world you are) the OEM colorschemes and grab bar (for European versions like mine). It has 110 horses just like any other '99/'00 (as far as I know).

Hi,

this is a bit of spec info i found on the ultima light there is a difference.

Have a look, I spoke with a chap at honda UK to check a bikes manufacture detail and and he said its difficult to tell them apart as some people change graphics to make there bike more appealing, dont know how much truth there is behind this but thats what i was told? the bike I was questioning said ultima light on fairing but honda man said no.

Hi,

I also wondered about the Ultima light model.
Mine is the same as the pic on the last answer.
It is '99 model and the book says 110 hp!
I guess it is a name used in different markets, while mine is German.
