Default Coolant level

Last week I posted that my bike was dripping coolant. I started it up yesterday and it leaked more coolant so I pulled the right plactic and the only thing I could find leaking was the one main coolant hose where it clamps to the top of the RAD. I sunged the clamp down and it did not leak anymore, but the bike was warm so I will have to see what it does when it's really cold like tonight. Anyways I can not get the RAD cap off with out removing the right ram air tube and all that stuff so I topped off the coolant in the RES bottle till it was almost to the top line. My question is do you think my coolant level in the RAD is fine? Like I siad the bottle has the right amount of coolant in it.

I am trained to work on Automobiles and I have worked on Dirt bikes and qauds, but everything on this bike is so packed in there that I hate working on it. I mean to pull the RAD cap you have to remove other stuff-WTF? Got to love sport bikes.

Ben.

You can unscrew the rad and drop it foward to remove the cap or you can take off the the air duct.

Do you have to remove the nose of the bike to remove the right air duct?

no you dont. just loosen it from the airbox and pull it out.

Its easier to drop the rad foward than to do air duct method. Its a pita to get the duct back in correctly.

I see. I don't think I lost alot of coolant since the level in the bottle is in the safe range and the bike is not overheating.

Thanks for your help.

Well I started the bike last night and there was no coolant leak at all and it ran great and did not get hot for a long time. I think that loose hose clamp was all that was wrong. YAY!

Now we just need to get winter over with so I can ride the damn thing.
