chicken strips

RE: chicken strips
It's very possible, assuming everything you've said is correct, that you have a 190 rear instead of a 180.
Aside from trackside bragging, what the hell do you care if you've got strips on your bike? Can you keep up with other good riders in your city? Are they smoking you? You smoking them?
You see what I'm getting at?
If you're smoking them, laugh at them. If they're smoking you, strips are the last thing you need to worry about. If you're on a track, then you just suck.

RE: chicken strips
Ride more, worry less.
FWIW, I drag knees (and sometimes pegs) on my FZ1 and still have chicken strips. Drag aknee on my 929 and no chicken strips....go figure!
I have to disagree with this statement. That's exactly what should be considered...less is more in this case.
IMO, what comes into play is the lean angle. Forget about the chicken strips for a moment and consider your lean angle. The less the bike's leaned the faster you can potentially go around a turn (if you have the skills to do so).

Don't worry about how far the bike is leaned over...

RE: chicken strips
I guess the big question come in to play is why are you dragging the pegs? I agree with them you need to get your butt over on the seat and keep the bike little more up you will be much faster, but how much faster do you need to be on the street? Lots of things to go wrong on the street at that much lean angle, rocks, sand, too much crap to low side the bike.

RE: chicken strips
There is no reason to drag pegs on the street. You are coming very close to ending up on your head doing that. Pegs have feelers on them to let you know you are about to run out of cornering clearance. It's never good to drag hard parts on the track let alone on the street. As for the strips? I dont know......there is no reason to worry about it. It's hard to get rid of them on the street and quite dangerous. At the track, well if you are riding hard they will be gone. Either way.....dont drag your pegs........you're going to eat grass or worse, a tree, doing that.
