Question Carb Coolant Hose Confusion

I'm in the process of re-fitting the carbs on my 600 F4 (1999) and can't recall which of the 2 coolant hoses, attach to which side of the carbs!!
One of the hoses comes from the water pump and the other from the thermostat.
I've checked my Haynes manual but that doesn't show the hoses or their routes, I've also tried to have a look at a shop manual online but that didn't help either.......

Having done some more searching it looks like the hose from the water pump connects to the left of the Carbs and the other one to the right (when sitting on the bike) but if someone can confirm this, it would save me a lot of hassle?

I don't think it really matters which hose goes on which side. all that is going to change is the direction of coolant flow through the carbs.

Thanks, it does make sense that it shouldn't really matter and I've seen quite a few posts saying that people have just joined the hoses together any bypassed the carbs completely!

I've gone with the hose from the water pump to the "right" hand side and the hose from the Thermostat to the "left" (as you're sitting on the bike)
I'm hopefully going to try and get her started for the first time later today, so fingers crossed for no leaks (coolant or otherwise).

I was curious so I checked the service manual. water pump goes to the throttle side carburetor and thermostat goes to clutch side. in other words, it seems you have it put back together correctly.

Having had to split the carbs, due to a fuel leak from a perished O-ring, I noticed that the V shaped hose connectors (for the carb heating) don't actually send any water into the carbs as such, there are no holes into the carb where the connections are located....which seems odd!! If that's the case, I'll probably just do what a lot of other people have done and remove/bypass the connectors!!
