Default Boiling Battery

So I came home today from a rather long ride. I pulled my bike into the garage and turned it off. I decided before going in that I was going to lube the chain wallet was hot. So I went to turn the bike back on And it cranked once and then I heard a fizzle sound coming from under the seat. I took off the battery cover it's awesome fluid inside the cover Not a lot but it looks like my battery was spring on the inside. My only reason change to the bike was adding a cell phone charger Not sure if this could have caused it to overload. It does not have an inline fuse and perhaps that may have helped?? Has this happened to anyone else before and does it point to possibly a bigger problem. The bike was riding fine the lights were not flickering I have not had any indication of any electrical issues?? Any advice would be great I've got the battery out of the bike sitting on the ground right now trying to cool it off. Hopefully I won't need a new 1 but I know there's a chance I will..

Check the Voltage to the battery while the bike is on. The r/r might be putting too much to it causing it to overheat.
