Bike won't start well after it fell over.
Hey wondering if you guys might be able to help me out. I dropped my bike today going very slowly (it was dumb) Unfortunately it broke my mirror and snapped my shift peg
Anyways, now when I try to start it when it's cooled down a little it won't start. The only way to get it going is to open the throtle with the choke all the way off and eventually after 2-3 times trying it starts and runs fine. If I try to use the choke at all I have no luck. If I just turn it off for 3-5 minutes after a good ride it starts right up no issues. Does anyone have any ideas? Bike is a '00 F4 (carbureated)
Thanks in advance...

First for future reference (and the search engine) it's carburated.
The first thing I would suggest is pop off your tank (don't forget to turn off the petcock) and the seatand make sure nothing came loose, like the base idle set ****, any vacuum hoses (may as well take off the airbox while you're in there and double check all of them) and all your little electrical connectors are still electrically connected. If nothing turns up from that, give it a little time before you jump to any conclusions. I'm convinced carburated bikes are like computers, if they crash and then run rough afterjustgive them a little time to reset and magicallythey're fine. So let it sit for a while, and if you still have trouble starting it up tomorrow morning we can start digging deeper. But overall these bikes are pretty sturdy, it's very unlikely you caused any severe damage by dropping the bike going slow (short of popping off mirrors and scraping plastics).
Also, feel free to make an introduction thread in the newbie forum
(If you don't have the service manual yet you can download it from Steph's website www.stephygee.com)

Hey thanks for the tips, I'll see give it a little time and start it when I go home today. If no luck then I'll repost and maybe look at pulling the tank off etc... That service manual would be a great help but the link in your reply didn't work, is there somewhere else I can get it.
CBRforum is adding a parenthesis to the end of the link, should be www.stephygee.com
Once the main page loads on the bottom left in the middle is the F4 manual.

Thanks for the advice rabbit. Got home and tried the bike after sitting for about 24 hours... .started up first try from cold with full choke. Thanks for the link as well, I'm sure it will come in handy at some point.
