When you say "hot", do you mean operating temp hot or overheating hot?
Are you using choke when you get it finally get it restarted? Do you normally have to use the choke when the bike is cold?

I have the same bike too with a similar problem. So far there are lots of posts offering ideas. However, specifically this is what happens with mine...starts up when cold. Heats up to normal temp. If I switch it off and try to start, there is not a sound coming from any part of the bike until it cools down again. Replaced the battery and tried again. No change. Checked the starter relay when cold and it clicks as normal ( obviously if the bike starts). Tried again when hot, just one click and then silence. Next step is to bypass the relay when hot to see if it starts. If it does then it's possible that the relay is goosed. If not, then apparently it's the starter motor (not so good). You might try doing the same.
It always could be the battery.
One of my friends (also a member here) had an issue that his bike was VERY hard to start when warmed up - he replaced the battery and all was well after that.

Folks. It's been a while but the bike sat in the garage for the winter (not a commuter bike anymore). Now I decided to tackle the problem. I let the bike idle until it got to operating temperature. Once the fan kicked in I turned off the engine and tried to start it straight away. As expected, it did not turn over. Not even an attempt to turn over.
So I bridged the gap between the Positive and Negative terminals on the starter relay with a pair of pliars. It started straight away which I expected. So that rules out the starter motor, battery and possibly the starter switch.
I'll replace the starter relay asap but until then I just need to carry a pair of pliars.
Hope this helps.
