so I tried to tap the thread but somehow couldn't find the right size tap. Even though if I had the right tap, I dont think it's gonna work because when I screw in the bar end, the screw itself will only go in about half way then if I'd still try to tighten the screw, the whatever is inside the handle bar starts to rotate too. Is there a way to maybe replace the little mechanism inside the handle bar or it's integrated to the handle bar?

You guys have any better ideas?

Also, the reason I dont want to use glued on bar end is because the purpose of having these bar ends is not just to protect the handle bar when the bike goes down. They also serve a purpose of absorbing vibrations from the forks. and I dont trust these glued-on ones.

Yes you can pull the weight out u just need to get hold of it somehow, pull the other side out by the bar end and you'll see.
