the seat cowl was not a pain at all to get on when I did a test fit, and I am sure once it's installed I will be able to remove it easily then can just throw it in my nap-sack and put my girlfriend on the back.

What leo black label meant was, are you sure the seat cowl wasn't meant to fit on an F4i, not your F4.

There are two screw C clips that attach to the seat strap. Then you put a screw through the two holes on the cowl and screw them into the C clips. This holds it in place from sliding backwards and the lip that rolls over the back holds it from sliding forward. Contact Targa they will have the hardware you need.

If you were able to see in person how large this thing is its pretty easy to tell its only going to fit over the banana seat, I was worried about the same thing when I won it on ebay but its large and has to go over your existing plastic where it says CBR on each side. it is 18" wide x 19" long, much bigger then a solo seat on a F4I. Ride-Red that's the answer! Once its on I will be sure to post pic's, Hey thanks to everyone for your help.

Hey just another pic I found and how to install it, almost looks like it was meant to come from Honda like that. "The rear of the seat cowl fits over the tailpiece above the taillight, and the front mounts to a passenger grab strap we supply with the seat cowl. There are two aluminum clips with threaded inserts that fasten to the strap, and two screws go threw the front mounting holes in the seat cowl and thread into the inserts. You can remove the seat cowl easily for access to the under seat area for storage or maintenance by removing the two screws."

The banana seat is a real eye sore on the beautiful F4 and it needs the cowl for sure.I went one step farther and removed the whole tail section, chopped the seat in half, and installed a CBR1000 tail section from an 07.I'll load pics soon as im a newbie but the project went smooth and it looks sick! That being said I now have a perfect black tail section and integrated tail light for a 2000 with decals.
