99/00 F4 Firing Order Questions?
If anyone knows the firing order on a 99F4 i'd appreciate the info. I've heard and read different combinations but unsure of the right one. I'm using this particular motor in a cart.
ok.....
1) Ok...lets say the order is (A) 1,2,4,3 or (B) 3,4,2,1. what i dont know is which direction they shouldgo. I guess there are only 2 options, but assuming you are starting with the plug closest to the throttle cable (on the far end) is it A or B?
2) What would be the issue if the plugs were crossed up? Would it not start, or would it start but miss etc?
3) Airbox on or off? Should the motor start fine with just the carbs on witout the airbox, of with the airbox off does it get too much air?
Dumb questions i know...but if i knew i would not be asking. Thanks@

RE: 99/00 F4 Firing Order Questions?
1.I'm fairly sure its 1234. #1 would be starting on the clutch lever side of the bike.
2.I've never tryed swaping the order and I'm sure it will damage the motor in some way.
3. It will start w/o the airbox on. Just don't work around a dirty area. Its their to clean the air in the first place.

hopefully not too dumb answers
The White Dog website says it's 1-2-4-3 and I'm sure they're right

Number 1 cylinder is the left hand one, number 4 cylinder is closest to the throttle cables.
I assume it would miss on at least two cylinders if the coils were crossed up.
Engine won't get too much air if the airbox is off but it might get too much dirt and particles in it.
