Default 2000 f4 kickstand issues

I have a 2000 f4. The bike was lowered with a stock kickstand.
So of course, i had to chop some of it off to get the bike to lean properly.
So I put it back on, and it started and ran perfectly fine.
The next day, I went to go ride it, picked the kickstand up, and it stalled in first. But it would take off with the kickstand down. So I guess I got the sensor switched around when I put it back on. So I turned the sensor around, put it back on, and it worked like it should. I left it off for an hour or so, went to go move it, and it stalled in first with both the kickstand up and down. And I couldn't get it to take off. So I pushed it into shelter. Why is it doing this, and what should I do to correct the problem ?

Faulty switch I'd guess.
Try it the original way - if it works, fine - I'd still check the wiring though.........

+1 on the faulty sensor.. maybe with the re installation, the contacts or grounding just isnt working how the bike wants
