I told the guy what i had found out here and he did not like that one bit. He insists that he can sell it all day at $3k. I told him if that is indeed true and if i was him i would make the deal today because anyone who does any research into the bikes worth will find out that it is very over priced.
I said, look if anyone goes to KBB and puts the info in they will see it retails for $2280 in excellent shape. And the buyer is told the bike has been laid down but repaired and the selling price is $1000 more than the retail price that potential buyer is going do like i did and said i dont think so sorry. I told him all i could offer for the bike is $2000 and that would not be firm until i rode it and had a mechanic look at. He did not like that

Now i find what sounds like decent bike on Craigs list in town i live. So i googled the phone # that is listed out and its a land line in Tampa Florida. They responded so i asked where it is located here in town. If i dont hear back from them id say its a scam. If so then might be sign i dont need to buy a bike.

well it was bound to happen no one likes being told that what they are asking is unrealistic, but he will realize that his bike is not worth as much when he puts it out on the market. i got my bike (99) f4 with 38xxxkms on it and a bit of fairing damage other then that mechanically it was in great shape. and i got it for 1000$ i may have gotten a better price then what its worth but not to much more then that

99 f4
i payed $1500 for mine with 23,000 miles and a little scratched up. mechanically sound though. it has 34,000 miles and still runs very strong. i ride it everyday as main transportation. and every week end take it on road trips. i go on two hundred to five hundred mile trips. its such a good bike. i change the oil at 2500 to 3000 miles, change all fluids on time and maintain it and bingo! puts a smile on my face every ride. no magic to maintanance. these bikes will run a long, long time while taking some abuse along the way if ya keep up with maintanace stuff.
i just got the RK quick excel sprocket and chain kit put on and the bike pulls like a beast now. with summer aproaching its time to go **** with some bigger bikes, show em what the old f4 has. ha ha

I lucked out. Bought my 2000 F4 with 7200 miles for $2000 bone stock, all maintenance records and never laid down. He also threw in riding gear, it was all to big but craigslisted all of it and made enough to buy brand new gear. Keep your eyes pealed there are deals out there to be had, just a matter of finding them.
