Default 1999 coolant temperature / thermostat

Hi everyone,

I got some question based on the coolant temperature of my 1999 PC 35. I notice that it taked something around 4km that my analog coolant temperature display moves. Since I am a newbie ,I shift up the gears quite quickly (3500-400rpm)

Some days ago we have here some around 14 degrees. I was on a highway and my temperature drops under the middle (130km/h , 6000 rpm was the highest peak). I attached a picture. The green line was the position even a little bit lower. As I left the highway ,the temperature went up close to the middle (traffic light) .
On the secondary road (100km/h) the temperature drop again.
I dont have any experience with the bike on sommer or higher temperature (highest was 20 degrees) .
Could it be the thermostat or is it normal if its a little bit colder outside and I am driving slowloy?

Thank you very much for any help

I think you might be having an issue with the thermostat. It might not be closing all the way and coolant keeps circulating and not allowing the engine to get up to proper operating temperature. 14 degrees C is not that cold. It is not unusual for it to take longer to warm up, but should still be at operating temperature under most conditions that you'd be riding in.

That would be a mechanic that thinks they know more than the engineers that designed the bike.

A mechanic would know better. It's the non mechanics that would do such a thing.

I would tend to agree with you on this.
