They do make "power commanders" for carb bikes , thats how they started before Fi, Vance and Hines IIRC were the first....called power packs tho.
I'm sure however they don't currently manufacture then for a bike that old so you'd have to find one used.
Basically they gave you control over rev limit setting , timing (on certain bikes), more accurate rpm gauge and supposedly hotter and/or more reliable ignition.
I don't think that did very much for performance but having a true RPM guage and the ability to set a user definable rev limit was nice. Only reason I ran them back then.
But yea, no fuel management obviously.
